The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra Announces the Following Audition:

Open Position: Preschool Music Teacher (Part-Time Contractor)
Location: New Bedford Symphony Orchestra
Position Type: Part-Time (4 days/week, approx. 5 hours/day)
Duration: Full Academic Year (September – June following the public school calendar)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and nurturing Preschool Music Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year in a partnership program with Northstar Learning Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and a strong background in music. This contracted position involves teaching music to children ages 2–5 using a holistic, child-centered approach where daily musical performance, creation, listening, and reflection experiences are used to nurture all aspects of a child’s development—cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and creative.
Qualifications
- Degree in music education or prior experience teaching music to young children
- Strong singing voice and proficiency on at least one instrument (string instrument proficiency preferred)
- Reliable, organized, and enthusiastic

$31,600
